Around Jamaa, there are still tons of scammers, even though the trading system was invented.
Here are most ways of how scammers scam. (No, not because I did them, because I figured it out.)
1. The Sending Scam: If a person says
something like, "Send me a rare and I send you a glove" then do not I
REPEAT DO NOT DO IT. Hey all you scammers: Guess what you'll never
believe this! Animal Jam invented something called Trading isn't that
amaz-a-zing??!?!?
2. The Pillow/Paw Plot: If someone says,
"Come to my den and change the color of your glove!" you'll go to their
den, right? Once you get to their den, you should see a pillow at
coincidentally the bottom left-ish part at the bottom of their den. They
will ask you to click that pillow/paw rapidly. As you do this, they put
up a LOUSY trade like a pink plain necklace for your glove. The place
you click a bunch is exactly where the yes answer is on a trade.
3. The Decline Trade Deception: Some
people around Jamaa say things like "I will decline all trades even the
rare ones I swear try it out!" You assume that he is being honest, and
you put up a glove for his necklace. DON'T DO THAT. He will accept it. Pretty dumb decision right?
4. The Broken Trade Blackmail: Some
Jammers say, "I'll trade rares for rares but my trade doesn't work
please send me the rares and I will send you mine!" There are 2 parts to
this. 1. They could be telling the truth, but they shouldn't be asking
to send. There are some glitches where they're yes button doesn't work,
or they can't click. 2. They will attempt to scam. You will feel bad for
them and you will send your rares. They leave.
5. The Contest Cheat: You're walking in Jamaa, when you see somebody say, "Send me the BEST rare and whoever sends the best will get my [rare item]! You decide to send a rare and see if you win. You keep asking after 10 minutes, "When will you announce the winner?" Well have I got new for you guys. There is no winner.
This is gugtin, a Contest Cheat scammer. Please report her. I tried to warn everybody who actually sent her something. They never listened.
6. The Try-On Trick: Picture this: You're wearing non member bat wings. Then a friend comes up to you and asks, "Hey, can I try your bat wings on?" Since they are your friend, you send your bat wings or trade them to her/him for their necklace. They say, "Thanks! I'll trade you back! Oops! GTG! I'll give them to you tomorrow!" They will leave and take you off their buddy list.
This is a really stupid thing that people say to try and scam, because why would you need to TRY IT ON? You can already see them on another animal that is the same as you!
7. The Glitch Gyp: Picture this: You're a person who LOVES glitches. You see somebody in Jamaa Township saying, "Come to my den/Follow me to see an awesome glitch!" You, of course, go to their den, or follow them. They will say, "Okay, I need 2 [Worn blankets] for this glitch. Send/trade it to me, then I'll show you, then I'll send/trade you back. You send or trade them a worn blanket you have. They will leave with your worn blanket.
8. The Cool Catastrophe: You see somebody in Jamaa Township. They are shouting out, "I will trade a glove for non member bat wings!" Ok, this doesn't sound like a very good trade, and nobody does it. Then they say, "If you don't send or trade me non member bat wings then you aren't cool you are a loser!" It's not you who are the loser, it's probably them acting like one. Just because you don't want to do their lousy trade, doesn't mean you aren't cool!
9. The Flash Trade Fooler: Okay, here is something I did a long time ago, when non member gloves were very very very rare.
I had a cream colored one, and this girl wanted to trade it for her purple one. I said no, and she got really angry at me, so to get back at her, I kept flash trading my cream glove for her purple one to make her angrier. The last time I did it, I pressed the "Cancel" button at the wrong time, and it wouldn't cancel out. She accepted the trade, and I was stuck with a measly purple glove.
So the point here is that a person will ask to flash trade your rare for theirs. You do it and quickly press cancel, but something will go wrong so it won't cancel. Then the person will accept the trade.
10. The Lion Code Lure: This scam has been going on for a while, probably since the membership cards have come out.
Most Jammers want a membership card that comes with a lion. Some clever but pathetic scammers have figured that out.
A scammer will say something like, "Send me your rares and I will give you a lion code!"
A smarter scammer will say, "Here is the first half of the lion code: [a6xc90r53]" (Now I'm sure a bunch of you will go try it out, but sorry, it's fake.)
Then they'll say: "Now send me a rare and I'll send you a Jam-A-Gram telling you where to go to meet me so I can give you the second half of the code." A Jammer would send them a rare, and wait for a Jam-A-Gram. They might get one, and then go to that place. The Scammer will never ever ever ever infinity show up.
11. The Bet Bribe:

12. The Feature Forgery: One of my friends was recently "cheated" by her friend.
But for an example, a Jammer might say, "I have an awesome Legendary glove. I'll trade you it for you're non member bat wings." The other might say, "Okay!" They trade, and then the other Jammer finds out it's a plain old Legendary Glove. This might occur for new players. KNOW YOUR ITEMS!
13. The Double-Dealing Deceit: Okay, this scam has happened frequently. You might have, for example, a Legendary Glove that is very special to you and you wouldn't trade it for anything. I scammer would come up to you and say, "You love that item, right? I can double it for you! All you have to do is send it to me, and I'll send it and a copy of the item back!" Now the Jammer will send him the rare, and the scammer will leave with it.
14. The Fake Friendship: This one can be very tricky, and it totally fooled me on my second month of first playing Animal Jam.
You'll find a best friend, who might gain your trust, which could actually take a while, so they could be mysteriously plotting against you for 5 months and then spring their trap. But don't worry, I'm not like that.
Anyways, let's say your friend finally gets you to give them your Legendary Glove because "You can trust me, right?" Wrong. Don't do this. Okay, this might sound weird coming from me, which is ironic, but you shouldn't trust anyone online. You can trust me, but if you choose not to, fine with me. Just don't trust the scammer!
15. The "You Scammed" Swindle: Sometimes people don't try to scam directly, so they'll scam indirectly, or without actually saying something that is obvious for scamming people. They might say, as it happened to me, "I really want a purple glove." I was bored and I still had 2 purple gloves, so I thought "Why not?" and sent a glove for them. I didn't care if I didn't get anything in return, just as long as they would stop complaining for a glove. Here's thestupid dumb part: They said, "Hey thanks for the glove!" Which as everybody knows, means they received the glove. Then they automatically said, "Hey I didn't get the glove! You scammer! Report Feelers she scammed me!" You know how ridiculous this is?!?!?! They even said so themselves: "Hey thanks for the glove!" Which means THEY GOT THE GLOVE. I'm going to go before I throw a dumptruck out of a winder now.
16. The Rainbow Rip-Off: Okay, so nowadays, some Jammers have been trusting their buddies to take their rares, and try to get a different color of that same rare. This may seem like a good idea for some Jammers, but it actually isn't. What a buddy would do is say, "I really can't get a [Blue Legendary Glove]. Can you get one for me?" Then the other buddy would say, "Sure, just give me your regular [Legendary Glove]. Thanks! I'll get you one as soon as I can!" This buddy might just take it and keep it forever and just keep saying, "I'm still trying". Don't do this!
17. The AJ HQ Artifice (credit to papad91278): Someone will say, "SEND ME RARES OR I BAN YOU OR TAKE YOUR MEMBERSHIP,I WORK FOR AJ HQ!", or something like that. Now, you DON'T send them something, guess what: YOU STILL HAVE ACTIVE ACCOUNT AND IF YOU HAVE IT YOU STILL HAVE YOUR MEMBERSHIP! If they did work for HQ, why would they ask for your rares? Known scammer of this scam: jammaHQ, who is a non member. You can tell it's fake because they spelled Jamaa wrong.

Now I bet that someone who did try them is missing a very rare item.

so I was the only one trying to warn them. Then the girl started to make up excuses of how she was not scamming and one of her excuses was that she was 5 exempt she was writing really well with no spelling mistakes or anything like that and i asked her why she was writing if she was 5 and she was like because 5 year olds can write and then i said not and well as you though and she just ran away.

Then I told the scammer to give the "victim" his rare back, and she did, and i told her to never scam again, and since it was probably a 5,6, 7, or 8 year old, they said okay and never scammed again.

DeleteEveryone...I have found another way people scam. I call it the Code Scam. People have done it on me multiple times...and this is how they do it. They say, "come to my den for lots of codes!" You'd go right? So lots of people go. Then they say "I have like 10 codes but if you want them you have to send me a rare item!" so people send rares. And then...the person telling the codes either leaves without telling the codes or tells fake codes. Never fall for this scam!

DeleteI was tricked by contest cheat. I forget the username but he said if you want a locket go to my den. Me and my friend like to look like twins and she got a locket so I needed one too. So I went to the den. When I got there the scammer said send me best gift and you win a heart locket. So I sent my pink clover blanket and he said Congrats Colorsplash. I was astatic and then he said he would send me the locket. Then I asked if we could trade. He said okay but we have to trade rare. I said but I won that I should trade something nonrare. He was silent and then he just logged off. Everyone started screaming since they didn't win they should have their rares back. I wish I could have my pink clover back but I got a new one and that one got scammed then I got another and that is now -.-

They say, "hey you, you wanna rare??" and of course u say yeah right?? Well what you don't know is some items you buy in the chamber of knowledge were rare and people hardly EVER go there. So you thought it was still rare, you trade a rare, and you just got scammed! I got tricked that way, around Halloween my friend, On AJ, had a candy bowl. Well you could buy them and I didn't know so I said, what for your candy Bowl?? And she said "I'll take a rare, these are REALLLY rare." so I almost traded her a claw machine but my friend called me to tell me they were in stores. PHEW I almost lost a rare.... Lol

Someone scammed me. They told me to click on a pillow really fast to get a glove. I know the pillow cheat so I knew to click on the pillow when it was in my top left corner of the screen. Then the person said there where two parts to the cheat. I needed to trade a rare for a plushie. I was stupid and did the trade. Then they went somewhere else.

god, i really hate all scammurrz and hackurrz. period. in my old account, i waz a beta testurr and i had all sorts of rares on it. i was going on summurr vacation, so i gave teh account to my friend and guess waht? he migrated all those rares to his own account! i was so mad, but i realized he wasn't even my FRIEND anymore.he moved away months later, but i guess i'll never own a cami frog or a worn again....

Hey! I always get lousy trades like a necklace for a headress. So, I decided to fill my list up with ALL RARES (so that people can't send me rare items for my unrare items ). Then I go to Jamaa Township and say "I accept one lucky trade a day!" And -1.People don't send lousy trades 2.They know I CAN accept like normal trading 3.You can get some pretty good offers.- Then I switch servers and say it again! It's not scamming and it's a good way to get things you want.

I was scammed in the lion code glitch. i regret that day. i totally hate it. i can't remember the full user, it was loopy something and they were female, i'd know them if i saw them. i lost my beloved glove. i was dumb and foolish and i was desperate for a lion code. Now i'm smarter and i know a scamming trick. The Birthday Scam: someone says "Trade me rares it's my birthday!!" either this person is telling the truth, but she clearly just wants rares THAT much or they are lying. this is more prone to newer players, so they feel bad and send them their rare. IT'S NOT THEIR BIRTHDAY. i see people do this ALL THE TIME. it drives me nuts.

Hey Feelers I have a new scam for you; the 'You scammed Scam' as I like to call it. It's not tricking you but rather forcing you to send them a rare that they say you scammed. You can look up 'Animal Jam - nikitiger trying to scam me!' on youtube and see what it looks like. Sometimes they say they have proof and sometimes they don't. Sometimes it's not used to scam you but as hate to get people to report you; hence possibly suspending or banning you. Two scammers that I firsthand KNOW use this are :

ReplyDeleteSooo, the first one is the "Nonmember Batwings Scam". Someone will say "I have NM Batwings for trade!" Then they go up to you and say "Do you want my NM wings?" Of course you'd say yes if you don't have them. Then they try to trade you black member wings for your rare, and you're so excited to get NM wings that you accept. Then they run off with your rare. There are a lot of variations on this scam: the Beta Hood Scam, Beta Eyeball Scam, Beta Tiara Scam, Beta Creature Mask Scam, Rare Top Hat scam, etc., etc., etc.
The NEXT scam is quite notorious. It is called the Rare/Glove Code Cheat.
So someone goes up to you and says "I have a code that will give you an (insert a rare here)! Do you want it? All you have to do is send me a (insert a rare you own here)!" You send, then they tell you a bogus code and run off with your item.
The third is called the Birthday Blackmail. People will yell "IT"S MY BIRTHDAY! SEND ME RARES!" and people will send them rares. I just send them a Happy Birthday Jam-A-Gram :3 People will also say "I'M POOR!" or "I'M NEW!"
Another is called the Parent Mod Scam. People will say "Send me rares, my (insert family member here) works for AJ and I will get them to send you a really good rare!" the sad thing is that this scam WORKS. Lots of people are fooled by it.
Another is called the Sob Story Scheme. People will tell ridiculous sob stories and get people to feel sorry for them and send rares.
There is a fairly new scam, too: the Membership Code Rip-Off. People will say that you can get a free membership at their den, and then non-members will go and the person will either say "Send me a rare" or "Click this item". They get people to do it, and then in the case of the Pillow Click they put up lousy trades, or they run off with the sent item. There was this one person, I forget their user, who was doing it, so I went to their den on a NM account and said "Hi, I heard that there were free memberships here." They told me to click a purple pillow, and I didn't click, but ran over to the pillow. They asked if I was clicking, and I said "Yes!" They then put up a lousy trade for a rare that I have, and I click no, then say "Scammer!" report them and leave.

Then I'll trade BOTH items back!

Him: I swear to God.
Me: Ok...
(This is the part where I do something dumb)
So, trusting him, I accepted.
He said: Haha! You got SCAAAMMMEEEDDD! LOL!
But I noticed he traded two actual rares for my glove, that wasn't even a stinkin' rare.
So his loss.
PLEASE! Help stop scamming, every animal of Jamaa!
Gloves are basically what caused scamming!

Hello Feelers and Hi Jammers! I sometimes see people saying something like this " SEND ME THINGS I AM POOR!" Sometimes it's a scam, sometimes not. Whenever I see someone do this I usually check their den (if unlocked) and their achievements (poor people shouldn't have the gem achievements like 50,000+ gems or something. I like to call this scam the "Poor Prank!" :D Happy Jamming Jammers!!! :DDD

Okay, next time i got scammed.... OUT OF MY FIRST TOP HAT!! I got scammed by this girl, silverstein. I HATE HER!! Her scams are so believable! Well, this is what happened.
(i was at a trading party. I saw silverstein. She had a black top. I had pink and brown. I tried trading her my top and good rares like planter for her black solid. She declines but then says:
Her: Hey Anakin, I'll think about ur trade.
Me: Okay. :D
Her: Buddy me.
Me: KK, silverstein. (I buddy her not knowing shes a scammer)
Her: Go to ur den, I think I know u.
Me: ?.? I don't think I know you.
Her: Just go, okay?
Me: Fine. (we go to my den and start a conversation about scamming -.-)
Her: My friends trust me so much that they let me try on their rares. Rares as in tops, worns. bat wings, ect.
Me: O.o Really? My friends don't let me do that but they do trust me. (random person comes in, as i knew after, her side member account =.=)
Her Side Account: Hey silver! :) My beta blanket for your bat wings?
Her: Sure, but can i try on the beta blnaket first?
Her Side Account: Ummm, You won't scam me right?
Me: Course she won't scam you. We were just talking about that :3
Her: Yep.
Her Side Acount: Okay, here you go. (send her beta blanket and then silverstein sends FAKE bat wings to her. Side account puts them on and runs off)
Me: =3
Her: See? My friends let me try their items on.
Me: Yeah, cool.
Her: Anyway, i'll trade bat wings and my top for urs.
Me: O3O Okay!
Her: But i wanna try on the top first. cuz i might not like it.
Me: (i get un comfortable and start shivering)
Me: sad emote.
Her: u can try with your mummy gluv if u still dont trust me.
Me: Alright. (i send her the mummy, she refreshes and sends back)
Her: that was easy right?
Me: yeah, i guess.
Her: Now can u do it with the top?
Me: .....
Me: Oh, fine!

Me: (sends top) There. Now send me your top!!!

Now both of those times were a long time ago.
And i wish i could redo them both. Feelers, srry for the EXTREMELY long comment. XD

I don't remember who, but two pople we're bullying another jammer. (I think it was Soul25...) I hated it. Finally the bully had to get off. sims151 attempted to scam me! Luckily, it didn't work. He sent me a buddy request, so I thought,"Ok,why not?" And was about to press yes, when he set up a really lousy trade-his necklace for my glove- but luckily he sent the trade at the wrong time. So, I still have my glove. Now, you DON'T send them something and guess what, YOU STILL HAVE ACTIVE ACCOUNT AND IF YA HAVE IT YA GOT YOUR MEMBERSHIP! If they did work for HQ, why would they ask for your rares? Known scammer of this scam:jammaHQ. A non member who you can tell is fake because they spelled jamaa wrong.

when i was new to jamaa i was scammed 2 times in one day i lost a headdress ans snowman hat. some person one day said to me "hey want my balloon?" so like i said i was new so i said yeah and they said and i quote "first trade me your headdress for my spike hair" so i did as he said and he just left. then i herd about the bow later that day i was in jamaa asking for a bow so this animal walks up to me and tells me to go to their den to trade for the bow little did i know it was a scam so after we argued for a bit i finally agreed to send my snowman hat first if she sent her bow after but after i sent it to her she just left me there. >.< now thanks to this i know all the scams :)~fuzzyfuzzycuteseal

So a member comes up and says "I didnt get my member gift, could you send me yours?" So ya feel bad and send it. But then, you go to their den before they put it in. THERE IS ANOTHER GIFT! Now if they are still sending the gifts, they might not have got it but they will, but they still might be a scammer!

ReplyDeletea person was saying to me "come to my den" i went there. then i see a another person have a red spike it was his side account, and the owner that have top and wings saying do you have red spike i say "no". his say "ok if you have that spike i will give you my wings or top". then he tell to his side account this "hey my wings or top for your spike", the side account "no! i want jammer12340 worn for it". the side account come to me and say "pls trade me your worn for my spike and get his top or wings" i keep thinking and i say "no" the owner that have the wings and top unbuddy me and say "get out off here poor". i was mad and is the end of the stories :3

Some people don't use common sense. 5 people in Jamaa were almost scammed by a horse. he was standing there so i made his nametag unclickable. Then a bunch of people sat there and said to the horse, SCAMMER! over and over :D

But when i got to her den she said that we had to accept all trades to get her bow. Iythought that they would b good trades but they were like as plushie 4 my heart locket. i escaped just in time.
