I don't think the floaty "firemark" thing is an eyelash. Think about it, eyelashes have nothing whatsoever to do with hoods, no offense. Maybe after the person who made the hood said "Eh... I have extra time, and this looks dull." And made the eyelid thing to make it more appealing.
